But now the government has decided to replace its old Karnataka Free Rice Distribution Scheme under the Anna Bhagya Scheme with its new scheme, i.e., the Indira Kit Scheme. In the Indira Kit, people will get the Ration Items, which include pulses, Oil, sugar, and Salt. These Kits will be provided to the citizens of the state within one to two months. For this reason, the government also issued a command to monitor all the fair price shops, so that this scheme operates in the state within the time.

Indira Kit Scheme
To stop the pilferage of the Free Rice in the Black Market, the government decided to implement the Indira Kit Scheme in place of the Free Rice Distribution Scheme. Under the Free Rice Distribution of the Anna Bhagya Scheme, government provide the 5 Kilogram rice to all the beneficiaries of the state. Under the Anna Bhagya Scheme total 4.42 Crore citizen of the state get benefits of the scheme.
But now the tender for the Indira Kits is in its final stage and is going to be rolled out within 1 to 2 Months from this date. This contains different ration items like pulses, Oil, sugar, and Salt, so that families will get nutritious food. But this scheme specially focuses on children. For the implementation of this scheme, the government also installed GPS devices in all the Fair price shops to monitor, and CCTV Camera also installed in the shop and their Godowns.
The government also decided to open and closer of the each shop as per the Ration card attached with the same shop. So the opening time of these PDS shops is 7 AM and going to close at 8 PM every day. If any kind of problems are faced by the citizen, then the Tehsildar or other authority will resolve the same within 15 days.

These Indira Food Kits contain the following Ration Items with a quantity of 1 KG like:
- Turdal/ Pluses
- Edible Oil/ Refined Sunflower Oil available in a bottle.
- Salt.
- Sugar.
