Here, first of all, you need to understand the name of the scheme, i.e. Puthiya Payanam Puthiya Vegam means New Journey, New Speed Scheme. In this scheme, the government decided to provide bicycles to the students of the state. A total of 5.32 lakh students who enrolled in 11th class were selected to receive the benefits of the scheme.

In this bicycle, the Helmet and Water bottle holder are also equipped with the bicycle. We all know that in these modern days, the bicycle has also become a very important part of the lifestyle of students. The announcement of this scheme was made during the budget session.

Now, By Launching this scheme, he wants to distribute modern bicycles to students all over the state. Because nowadays the bicycle has also become a part of the life of modern students. They can start their new journey of education with speed after getting this bicycle.

Features of Scheme

• Beneficiaries Covered: Only the students of 11th class of the Tamil Nadu state are selected as beneficiaries of the scheme.
• Total Beneficiaries: This scheme covers a total of 5.32 lakh students from all across the state.
• Budget allocated: For this scheme, during the announcement, the government also allocated a budget of Rs.277 Crore.
• Aim to Launch: Government having the aim to provide modern bicycles for easy commuting from home to school.

Eligibility Conditions

This scheme is one of the largest schemes of the Tamil Nadu state, in which every student of the 11th class will be eligible to get the bicycle of the scheme. Check the rest of the qualifications of the students.

• Applicant must be a student.
• All Boys and Girls of the 11th Class are eligible.
• The native place of the student must be Tamil Nadu state.
• You must be enrolled in 11th class.
• Students must be enrolled for his/her study in 11th class in a government or government-aided school.
• There is no category or income criteria selected by the government.

NOTE: The private schools of the Tamil Nadu state are not included in this scheme.

How Government Distribute Bicycle Under Puthiya Payanam Puthiya Vegam scheme?

So there is no online portal or online application process are going to be started by the state government. If you are eligible, then you don’t need to apply for this scheme. The distribution of the Modern Bicycle can be made by the Education Department of the state. The School Education Department is going to coordinate with the Principal of the school or Education Institute. Then the head official of the institute will verify the new enrolment of the students and then verify them in the coming new academic year.

After verifying their enrolment in the new session of the academic year for 11th-class students, they prepare the list of the students and then send it to the Department. Then, according to the number of students, the Bicycles will be sent to the schools.

Then, by conducting a special event or according to their term, they distribute the bicycles to the students.
