Very soon in the state of Tamil Nadu, a new health insurance scheme is going to be launched to provide free health Insurance coverage. Beneficiaries who cover in this scheme is elder citizen of the state aged 70 years or above from all across the state. Once the scheme is implemented in the state, a total of 38 lakh beneficiaries are going to get benefits from the scheme.

All the selected beneficiaries will get super health care treatment like Cancer, Organ Transplants and other diagnostic care. Beneficiaries can avail all these health care services in any of the government or private hospitals in the state of Tamil Nadu which are empanelled with the scheme.

What is Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS)?
This is an already launched scheme of the Tamil Nadu state and is already providing its health care services to the registered beneficiaries of the state. In this scheme, the beneficiaries will be able to claim health insurance up to Rs.5 Lakhs per year. They can use this health insurance coverage for their different surgeries and treatments. Apart from it, they can also claim up to Rs.22 Lakhs for an organ transplant.
