Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme
This scheme was introduced by the former CM of the state of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar MÂ Karunanidhi, in 1989. This scheme was launched with aiming to provide the nutrition to improve the health of pregnant women of the state, lactating women and their newborn babies. The department who manage this scheme is the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Nodal of the State.

At the time of launch, this scheme was known as Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Mahapperu Uthavi Thittam. But in 2006, the benefit name was added to the title of the scheme and from that day the scheme is known as Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme. In total, Rs.18,000 will be given to the eligible women of the state, of which Rs.9,000 will be given by the Tamil Nadu state, and Rs.5,000 will be given by the Central Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. - Now, on the home page of the portal, you will find the link to the MRMBS Application Form; you need to click on that.
- Now fill this application form with the correct details, but remember if you are underage, i.e. below 18 years, then you can not fill this form.
- Have to enter your basic details, like Name, date of birth, qualification, address details, along with your husband’s details.
