Karnataka Shakti Smart Card Scheme

Now, to maintain the transparency in the scheme, the government is going to issue the smart card to all the women of the scheme. All smart IDs are treated as ID cards for the women, who commute from one place to another after taking the free bus travel benefits with the scheme. The announcement about issuing the smart card was given by the Karnataka Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh, on 8th June.

Apart from giving the benefits to women by issuing the smart card, the government also extended prepaid rechargeable smart cards to the men of the state. These smart cards are issued at a very low price, and women, by paying the same minimal price for the card, get the same. After getting the smart card, they don’t need to recharge it. But for Men, they need to recharge the smart card for use.

More than 3 crores smart cards are going to be issued, and to implement this scheme, a tender for the production of these smart cards. The smart card distribution can be made through the official portal or as they want very soon.

What is the Shakti Smart Card?

These smart cards are also known as the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), specially designed to provide free bus travel in all government-run buses. Women beneficiaries of the state of Karnataka will get the smart card at no cost, and they don’t have to recharge it. But for Men of the state, they also get a rechargeable smart card and use it to travel from one place to another.

How avail the benefit of the Shakti Smart Card?

• The online registration, as expected, can be made through the portal Seva Sindhu Services.
• Every new applicant has to open the portal and then create a new account using their Aadhar Card and Mobile Number.

• The Shakti Smart Card Form opens in front of you, and you enter all the information.
