Singa Pengal Empowerment Scheme 2026, SHGs Women Get Interest-Free Funding

To empower women and increase productivity in the Self Help Groups, which are led by women, the government announced the Singa Pengal Empowerment Scheme. By announcing this scheme, the new state TVK Government enhances the already existing facilities of loans. The loan will be given as an interest-free loan, and the financial assistance is up to Rs 5 Lakhs. All the SHGs that are registered in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will get financial assistance of Rs. 5 Lakhs as an annual grant by the government in this scheme. The financial help is given at a 100% subsidy. It will help all the self-help group women with their business growth and enhancement.

Very soon, the scheme is going to be implemented in the state by the new government. This time, the government is preparing for the official notification of this scheme.

Here, Singa Pengal means empowered Women. It is a development scheme that is launched only for the welfare and entrepreneurship of the women of Tamil Nadu. The scheme was announced during the Tamil Nadu State Assembly election in 2026. Under this scheme, the New Chief Minister of the state, Mr C. Joseph Vijay wants to make the women of the state financially independent. By doing business with the help of the Self Help Group, the government provides funding and financial support, and they become financially strong. It will also help them to provide financial stability to their families and support them.

Objective of the Singa Pengal Empowerment Scheme

This scheme is specially designed to support all the women via a self-help group and help all the women for empowerment. All the eligible women’s self-help groups will get an interest-free and collateral-free loan from the side of the government. The government, by providing such financial help to women, wants to make women financially independent and help them to start and expand their already running businesses.

• Financial Supports: through the help of this scheme, every Self Help Group, which is run by the women of the state, will get the financial support in the shape of interest fee loan, which is up to Rs 5 Lakhs given to them for the enhancement of production.
• Grant for MSMEs: All the self-help groups that are registered under MSME will get 5 lakh rupees every year, under the 100% subsidy grant for already running businesses.

• Gender Focus: This scheme is specially designed for women, so only females can apply for this scheme.
• Active Members: You must be a part of the active self-help group of the state of Tamil Nadu.
• Business Plan: You get the loan facilities from the government only for an already running business to expand it.

Documents List

To avail the benefits of all the welfare schemes of Tamil Nadu, the following documents are usually required. To date, the official notification of the Singa Pengal Empowerment Scheme has not been released by the government.

• Any of the identity cards of the beneficiary women, like a photocopy of the Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, and PAN Card, etc.
• You also have to show your residency proof of the TN state, and you need to submit the Ration Card or local address proof, which completes the verification process.
• To receive the financial help have to provide a savings bank account passbook photocopy, and also a cancelled cheque, etc.
• Kindly submit your family income certificate, which is issued by the authorised revenue officer, showing your family’s economic status.
• For any kind of update have to submit your contact details, address, etc.

TVK Singa Pengal Empowerment Scheme Application Process

This scheme is part of the election manifesto of the TVK Party in the 2026 assembly election and is going to start very soon in favour of women. This is the promise of the TVK party during their political tour door-to-door in Tamil Nadu state, but to date, the scheme is not active.
