In the state of Tamil Nadu, the Stalin Government started the financial security scheme for women. The scheme is known as the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam Scheme, which has the meaning of the Tamil Nadu Women Artists’ Rights Scheme. With this scheme, the government provide Rs 1000 every month to the lady who is the head of the family in Tamil Nadu.

As we know, this time there is now a new government active in the state, i.e., the TVK party, and they are also going to continue this scheme, and now they have to plan to increase the amount from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2,500 per month. It means the government directly enhance the amount of Rs. 1,500 every month.

As per the TVK election manifesto, the government has already made a promise to the women of the state that they are going to increase the amount of the Artist Women Rights Scheme by Rs 1,500/-. Which now means every woman, instead of receiving Rs 1000, will receive Rs 2,500 per month. TVK Party allows to distribute the same amount to 1.3 Crore head women of the state who have an age upto 60 years. If the TVK government hike the same amount, then they need a total of 15,600 Crore budget for this scheme.

Objective of the TN Artist Women’s Rights Scheme

While launching this scheme for the first time, the government has thought in their mind that from very long time, women have been doing free labour work for their families, and they don’t get any kind of payment. After doing lots of work, they are still dependent on others for their financial needs. To promote women’s empowerment in Tamil Nadu state, this financial security scheme was launched. After getting the monthly payment, all the women will become financially independent. Every woman can use the amount for their daily needs, like education, and they can also save the amount and use it once. So that women can raise their living standards. 

Features of Scheme

• Monthly Amount: In the KMUT Scheme, eligible women get an amount of Rs 1000 per month, which is directly distributed to the women through their bank account, but the new government has made changes in the amount, and now women are going to receive Rs 2,500 per month.
• Total Budget: This time, a total of 1.3 Crore women are the beneficiaries in this scheme and if the amount is hike government needs a 15,600 Crore budget.
• Beneficiaries Targeted: This scheme is mainly focused on women who are continuing their household work without any kind of payment. So by providing such kind of help, the government wants to raise the living standard and financial independence among the women.

Eligibility Criteria

• Residency of State: Only the Female  Head of Tamil Nadu families is eligible for this scheme.
• Age Criteria: All women who are aged 21 years up to upto 60 Years.
• Family Economic Status: The annual income of the woman’s family is not more than 2.5 Lakhs.
• Land Required: The women’s families have land ownership, which is less than 5 Acres for the Wetland and for Dary land, it is 10 Acres.
• Electricity consumption: The family should be consumption total of 3,600 electricity units every year.  
• Ineligibility: All women who are government employees, ex-employees, pensioners, or paying income tax are not eligible for this scheme.

• Check the link of the Concerned Portal: kmut.tn.gov.in is the official portal for this scheme, where you can apply for it.
• Click on Login to Apply: The link to apply online and login is available on the front page of this website.
• Registered and Login: If you are new, then create your ID and password, and using it, you can easily login in to your account. After logging in, the KMUT Application Form is available in your Dashboard.
• Fill Form: Start putting the correct information about the beneficiary woman, and then review it before submitting it.

Artist Women’s Rights Scheme Financial Assistance

This time, a total of 1.3 Crore women have already registered with the scheme, and all these women are already receiving the financial assistance of Rs. 1000 from the previous government, i.e., the MK Stalin Government. This time, the TVK Party has already formed their new government in the state, and now, as per its promise made in the election manifesto, they have enhanced the amount by Rs 1,500.
