Tamil Nadu CM Vijay announced a full farm loan waiver up to Rs 75000. With this announcement, the government has an extra burden of Rs 953.06 Crore Rupees, and it will benefit 13.34 Lakh farmers of Tamil Nadu. With this, the government also announced a waiver of cooperative loans on 25th May 2026 up to Rs 50,000 for Small and Marginal farmers. If any farmer has a loan of more than 1 lakh, then they will get a loan waiver of Rs 35,000. With the implementation of the scheme, farmers having loans from Rs 75,000 to 1 Lakh are 2,38,264 farmers.
C Vijay Joseph officially launched its first scheme for farmers in Tamil Nadu, titled the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme of the Cooperative Bank. In this scheme, all the farmers will get financial relief. After announcing this scheme in the state, from all across the state of Tamil Nadu, a total of 14.22 lakh farmers are going to get the benefits from this scheme, and the government is going to spend a total of 2,044.46 Crore on this scheme.
The Crop Loan or Farm Loan waiver will be given up to Rs 50,000/-. In this scheme, not every farmer, but the small and marginal farmers of the state who get a loan of Rs. 1 lakh or more will get the waiver of Rs. 5,000/-. All small and Marginal farmers who get a loan from Cooperative Banks from May 2025 will be eligible for this scheme. Tamil Nadu Crop Loan Waiver Scheme
This is the time when the government take the step to reduce the financial burden on the farmers of the state. In this scheme, the loan can be waived up to 50K. The marginal Farmers who get the loan up to Rs 50,000 will get the whole amount completely waived. On the other hand, the small farmers will get the 50% loan waived, which is also within the limit. In case of the Marginal Farmers of the state, all those farmers who get the loan from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000 will get a 40,000 loan waiver.
After implementing this scheme all across the state, a total of 14,22,555 Farmers are going to get the benefits of the scheme. All that Farmers who borrow a crop loan from the Cooperative banks from 1st May 2025 to 28 February 2026 will get the benefits from the scheme.

Features of Scheme
- Target Audience: A total of 14.22 Crore Farmers from all over the State of Tamil Nadu who are small and marginal Farmers will get benefits from this scheme.
