New elected Chief Minister Vijay is now going to complete his promise one by one by rolling out the welfare scheme in the state. So, recently, he made an announcement about implementing the new scheme “Kuruvai Special Package Scheme 2026”. The budget to implement this scheme is about Rs. 134.83 Crore, and going to provide the benefits in the Different Districts of the state of Tamil Nadu. The announcement about this scheme was made on 12 June 2026, and by announcing this scheme, the government wants to promote the Kuruvai Paddy Cultivation in the state of Tamil Nadu. Kuruvai Special Package Scheme
CM C Joseph Vijay introduced this scheme to promote the Kuruvai Paddy cultivation in his state. To implement this scheme, the government required a total cost of 134.84 crores. After the implementation of this scheme, now going to distribute the benefits in the Delta and Non-Delta Districts. By rolling out this scheme, the government wants to ensure food security in the state of Tamil Nadu and also wants to support all the farmers for their livelihood. We all know that Paddy Cultivation plays a very important role in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Objective of the Scheme
The main objective of this scheme in the state is only to encourage farmers to grow paddy. All the farmers will get the help for production and productivity from the side of the Government, that’s why Vijay, the Chief Minister, rolled out the same scheme with the title of Kuruvai Special Package Scheme 2026. Farmers cultivate paddy in a total of 52.72 lakh acres every year.
Features of the Kuruvai Special Package Scheme
- Scheme definition: This scheme is an agriculture financial assistance scheme for the Paddy Farmers of Tamil Nadu State.
- Announcement: Vijay, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, announced this scheme on 12 June 2026 with a budget of Rs. 134.83 Crore.

Benefits of the Scheme
We don’t have the official notification of this scheme, so the benefits that we are going to describe below are expected to be the same as those from the previous welfare scheme.
- All the Farmers will get the high-quality premium Paddy seed on 50% subsidy rate.
- Apart from the subsidy, farmers are also going to get the fertiliser support from the government, which is essential for cultivation.
- With the help of this scheme Government also going to support all the farmers via financial assistance and through subsidies for buying the mechanical equipment.
Eligibility For Farmers
To get benefits from this scheme, all the farmers need to complete the eligibility conditions of the scheme as given:-
- All Small and Marginal farmers who are cultivating paddy will be eligible for the scheme.
- Every farmer should belong to the Delta or non-Delta Districts of the Tamil Nadu state and cultivate their land.
- Farmers also registered with the Farmer Registry of Tamil Nadu and have ownership of the Land and are also active Farmers.
- In this scheme, the government also provide the priorities to the women Farmers and Farmers who belong to the schedule Caste and schedule Tribe.

Steps To Avail Benefits from Kuruvai Special Package Scheme
After the official implementation of this scheme, all farmers to get the benefits from the scheme need to apply online, or you can also apply offline by visiting the agriculture office in your area.
- In the first step, Farmers need to update their Farmer registry registration and submit their latest information details and also provide the correct land record before applying for this scheme.
- Then have to visit the Agriculture Extension Centre of your area, or you can also visit the Block Office to know more about this scheme and get the application Form.
- Then check the form and start filling this form. It is important to bring all the above-mentioned documents with you, and after filling in the form, attach these documents.
- Submit your form with documents to the office.
NOTE: In some areas, the government also set up a special control Room in the District for registration.
