Tamil Nadu’s new government is planning to launch the Thaai Maaman Gold Ring Scheme in which every newborn child gets a one-gram gold ring. This scheme is approved with an estimated budget of 755.83 Crore Rupees. Officials also get instructions for the implementation of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme will be provided for the children who are born after 22nd June 2026. Children who are born in government hospitals in Tamil Nadu get the benefit of this scheme. Officially, this scheme will be announced on 15th September 2026, on the anniversary of Perarignar Anna. This scheme is inspired by the Traditions Tmail Custom on the Maternal Uncle give gift and blessing to the newborn.

Objective of Thaai Maaman Gold Ring Scheme
The Thaymaman Gold Ring Scheme is just a proposed welfare scheme of the newly elected TVK government. In this scheme, one gold ring will be given to newborn babies in Tamil Nadu. In this scheme, a baby care kit is included in this scheme.
The main objective behind the launch of the scheme is to support newborn babies and mothers. It will also provide support to poor families. To encourage maternal and child care and expand family welfare programs. This scheme is a part of the TVK promise, which they announced before the election.
