So, like all governments, the Tamil Nadu government has already implemented so many schemes to provide food and complete housing facilities.

The government always expands its schemes to support the people of every community in the state of Tamil Nadu. Recently, the state government of Tamil Nadu expanded its Free Housing Scheme for the marginal communities of the state, i.e. Tribal Families. In this new Housing scheme, the government will provide free housing construction to all eligible Tribal families residing in the state under the Free Housing Scheme of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Free House Scheme For Tribals

The Government of Tamil Nadu, to provide Free Housing Construction facilities to the Tribal Families of the state, expands its ongoing housing welfare scheme. The scheme is run by the Government Department of Adi Dravidar and tribal Welfare of Tamil Nadu. The state government has already distributed the free House Patta, and now the free construction benefits are also given only to these people.

In this scheme, the government is going to construct the new house for the tribal families on the land that is already allotted and also provide a safe place for the tribal families. This scheme is only available in the state of Tamil Nadu, where beneficiaries don’t get any Financial Help; they all get a house. There is no kind of Financial Help given through DBT to any of the beneficiaries.

Objective of the Construction of Free Houses For Tribals

The objective of the Free Construction of House Scheme for Tribal is to improve their living standard. All the marginal communities, like SC/ST and Tribal, will get a safe shelter for their families. To provide housing facilities, the government has already allotted them Free Land/ Patta on which the next benefits, i.e., construction of a new house, are going to be provided to them.

• Benefits: The government only provide the benefit of the construction of a house instead of giving any financial assistance.
• Free Land Patta: So many people cannot afford land and construction, so that’s why it first provides them with a free Patta so they can now construct a home on the land.
• Targeted Beneficiaries: all eligible people who belong to Tribal communities and have already received the House Patta.

Eligibility Criteria for beneficiaries

To obtain the benefits from this scheme, every applicant only has to complete the three major eligibility criteria of the scheme. Given below:-

• Every applicant is a permanent resident of the state of Tamil Nadu.
• Applicant must belong to the Tribal Communities or the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes of the state.
• You also get the Free House Site Patta from the Tamil Nadu Government.
• No income criteria is set by the Government.
• If you don’t belong to Tribal families, then you are not eligible for this scheme.

NOTE: If you don’t have a Free Housing Patta or Land, then you are not able to get the benefits of the construction of the House. The scheme is already providing the benefits all over the state.

Important Documents

• Every individual who is eligible for the scheme needs to provide their Identity proof, such as a Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, etc.
• The communities’ certificates, like Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Adi Dravidar or converted Christianity.
• The mandatory certificate to get benefits from this scheme is to submit the Free House Patta or Land proof issued by the government.
• Tamil Nadu address proof is also important, like a Ration Card.

Benefits of the Tribal Free House Scheme, Tamil Nadu

• The scheme mainly provides the benefits of free Construction of a house to the eligible people.
• Applicants don’t have to pay any cost for the construction of the house.
• The government is not going to charge for the construction on the site.

How to Get Benefits from the Tamil Nadu Free Construction of House Scheme?

The application process for this scheme is offline. Because there is no dedicated portal launched by the government. To apply for this scheme, applicants need to get the application form from any of the Panchayat Offices or Local Offices of the government. Then have to follow the step-wise process.

• All the Free House Site Patta Holders need to collect the application form from the Local or the Panchayat Office.
• Then, enter all the information carefully, and paste your photograph on the form. Then have to attach the documents, which are self-attested by the applicant.
• All the documents with the form are submitted to the same concerned authority office.
• Get your application receipt. You need to save the same receipt, because it will contain the information like your application ID and the date of submission of the form.
• After getting your form, the officials will verify your documents. If all fits, then the application gets the approval.
